Future Earns His 12th No.1 Album With “The Real Me” - ZA.USA Power Ranking

Future, FUTURE HNDRXX, Fire Marshall Pluto, Astronaut Status, The WIZRD, Mixtape Pluto - whatever you may call him. Atlanta native, Future, scores his 12th No.1 album overall with his 2026 EP “The Real Me”. This No. 1 debut for Future comes in with over 131,000 equivalent album units. This No.1 lifts Future above Eminem, Ye (Kanye West), Bruce Springsteen, and Barbra Streisand for 5th all time on the Billboard 200 list; The Beatles lead with 19, Drake and Taylor Swift with 15, and JAŸ-Z with 14. Not only did this album debut for No. 1, 17 songs from the album fill the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This brings Future to 245 Hot 100 entries only behind Drake at 402 and Taylor Swift at 277. With this new accolade for 12 No. 1 albums, lets take a look into these 12 projects and what brought them to the No. 1 spot (Future has never had a bad album or mixtape by the way).

NO. 12 - We Still Don’t Trust You w/ Metro Boomin

We Still Don’t Trust You, the follow up album to Future’s 2024 EP “We Don’t Trust You”, hit the Billboard 200 at No.1 with 124,500 album equivalent units in the first week. This included 162.57 million on-demand streams and 2,500 pure album sales. This two-disk album featured the likes of The Weeknd, Ty Dolla $ign, J. Cole, Lil Baby, A$AP Rocky, and Brownstone with top songs being “We Still Don’t Trust You”, “Out of My Hands”, “Luv Bad B***hes”, and “All to Myself”. Although lower than “We Don’t Trust You” in overall sales, this album still hit the debut marker at No. 1 in it’s first week, released April 12, 2024.

NO. 11 - EVOL

At No. 11 for this Power Ranking comes Future’s 2016 EP “EVOL”. This 12 track album only holds one feature from The Weeknd for the project’s lead single, “Low Life”. With it’s No. 1 Billboard 200 debut, “EVOL” dropped with over 134,000 album equivalent units in it’s first week including 100,000 pure album sales - pretty impressive. This was Future’s third No. 1 project in just a seven month span as well. This album accumulated over 25,000,000 streams in it’s first week and grew to become 2x Platinum, certified by the RIAA. The lead single, “Low Life” featuring The Weeknd, debuted on the Hot 100 chart at No. 52 and peaked at No. 18. This lead single had 60,588 first week sales and is, in itself, 8x Platinum.

NO. 10 - High Off Life

The pandemic of 2020 was a weird time and while everyone was locked away for worry of the outside world, Future gave us “High Off Life”. This unforgettable EP was kept on repeat by many - I mean what else did we truly have to do at the time than to blast away a new Future album? This No. 1 album, released May 15, 2020, features the likes of Travis Scott, Youngboy Never Broke Again, Young Thug, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Durk, Meek Mill, and of course Drake for one of the biggest singles in music history period. This project garnered over 153,000 units and over 16,000 pure album sales in it’s first week. On-demand streams rounded out at about 186.3 million across the 21 tracks. The album itself is RIAA certified 2x Platinum as of July 27, 2022. “Life is Good” from this project, featuring Drake, is one of the most successful rap songs in history as it holds a 15x Platinum title from the RIAA and sits in the top 10 for most weeks on the Hot 100 chart for any rap song.

NO. 9 - I Never Liked You

Released April 29, 2022, “I Never Liked You”, took the Billboard 200’s No. 1 with an astounding 222,000 first week units - this also includes 6,500 pure copies sold. Streaming accounted for 214,000 units from around 283.75 million on-demand streams. This album was loaded with features from the likes on Ye (Kanye West), Gunna & Young Thug, Drake & Tems, EST Gee, Kodak Black, 42 Dugg & Lil Baby, and also the late Young Scooter. Packed with hit songs like “I’M DAT NI**A”, “MASSAGING ME”, and “I’M ON ONE” - the lead single “WAIT FOR U” also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was Future’s first Hot 100 No. 1 as the lead artist. “PUFFIN ON ZOOTIES”, “712PM”, and “I’M DAT NI**A” also held top 10 spots on the Hot 100 upon release.

NO. 8 - Mixtape Pluto

Another feature-less Future project, “Mixtape Pluto”, also sat at a No. 1 debut for the Billboard 200 chart. Released September 30, 2024, Mixtape Pluto saw around 129,000 first week album equivalent units - this includes 10,000 pure album sales with over 156.62 million on-demand streams for the project. This is Future’s 11th No. 1 project on record while also being is third No. 1 album in 2024 alone, within a six month span. Every song on this project entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart as well.

NO. 7 - The Real Me

Just released this year on July 10th, The Real Me, gained it’s No. 1 debut with over 131,000 album equivalent units in the first week. Out of this 131,000 units, 13,000 units were pure albums sold and the rest were directly tied to the on-demand stream. This project from Future also has zero features and is his 8th straight solo album to reach No. 1. As the top streaming album of 2026 so far, we’d say the top songs are most certainly “Tank Top Pluto”, “Konnichiwa”, and “Snow in Skyami”. Through this part of Future’s musical career, we see him take in more of his own style and desires with this album being mostly recorded away from Atlanta, rather abroad in France and Europe overall.

NO. 6 - We Don’t Trust You

When “We Don’t Trust You” released on March 22, 2024, it was the beginning to a new rapture in the modern hip-hop world. This album was one of 2024’s biggest releases of the year and in it’s first week accumulated over 251,000 album equivalent units - 15,000 pure album sales and over 324.31 million on-demand streams made up for this total. This album is mostly significant in modern rap as it holds the infamous Kendrick Lamar verse on the track “Like That” that caused for another Future collaborator, Drake, to take direct aim at Lamar through a series of back and forth tracks that left the rap world divided. This No. 1 album also features the likes of Travis Scott, Playboi Carti, and Rick Ross.

NO. 5 - Future Hndrxx Presents… THE WIZRD

First week total sales for THE WIZRD totaled around 126,000 first week with 15,000 pure sales and over 109,000 streaming equivalents. This RIAA certified Platinum album reached an impressive 450,000 album equivalent units by May 2019. As Future’s 6th No. 1 album, this one features only Young Thug, Gunna, and Travis Scott. Top streamed tracks from this album include “Talk Sh*t Like a Preacher”, “Promise U That”, and “Stick to the Models”.

NO. 4 - FUTURE

FUTURE, Future’s 2017 self-titled album, released on February 17, 2017 and only holding three features (Drake, Kendrick Lamar, YG), debuted No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with over 140,000 album equivalent units in the first week. Pure album sales for this project totaled 55,000 and streaming equivalents rounded at about 85,000 in the first week (31.6 million on-demand streams). This EP became Future’s first two chart topping albums in back to back weeks in 2014. This album is also certified RIAA Platinum as well. “Mask Off” from this project is the most notable song and probably one of the most notable songs from the late 2010’s and a certified hit - so much so Kendrick Lamar lended a verse for the official remix.

NO. 3 - HNDRXX

If you ask me, HNDRXX speaks more to “the real” Future from my listens. This EP was the second half to that back to back chart topping albums we just spoke about with FUTURE - hence “FUTURE HNDRXX”. This slowed down project was the first full project we held from Future where we felt a little more personal, a little more thoughtful in sound, and to me is his best body of work yet. This EP holds features from The Weeknd, Rihanna, Chris Brown, and Nicki Minaj. This No. 1 album debuted with over 121,000 first week sales with 48,000 of that being pure album sales and 63,000 streams making up the rest. The top streamed songs from this project - “My Collection”, “Coming Out Strong” featuring The Weeknd, and “Selfish” featuring Rihanna.

NO. 2 - What a Time to Be Alive

This is truly where the mainstream broke open for Future and this project was also one that fully led us into the age of streaming. As a joint EP with both Future and Drake, this album loaded the charts with over 375,000 album equivalent units in the first week. This album sold 334,000 pure copies marking it as one of the biggest albums of 2015 overall with U.S. sales topping 519,000 copies by January of 2016. I believe from this project, this significantly placed both Drake and Future as leaders in the rap/hip-hop genre and this EP totally powered 2015’s summer. We also got one of the most commercially successful songs in modern times with “Jumpman” - a nod to the legendary Jordan Brand in which Drake was at the time a collaborator with.

NO. 1 - DS2

DS2 is not alike any of the projects we just reviewed above - it is literally the foundation to modern rap as we know it today. The structure of DS2 drove the overall sound of rap directly into a new form of trap and mostly any artists who came after this album will tell you - DS2 was the start to a new world. As Future’s biggest opening at the time, this album gained over 151,000 album equivalent units in the first week - 126,000 of this was pure album sales. Streaming at the time only accounted for 25,000 units for this project. This was Future’s first chart topper on the Billboard 200 and as stated above, by the time we received What a Time to Be Alive, Future made himself a leader in modern rap. DS2 holds quite a few songs that also defined the 2010’s and became foundational to rap today such as “Thought It Was a Drought”, Stick Talk”, and “F**k Up Some Commas”. Without this album, rap would not be the way it is today - from sound to subject matter - this album defined rap going forward.
