Jaxon Dart Shines, Cowboys Give It Up, Baker Mayfield an MVP Candidate, and the Bills Fall in Atlanta - NFL WEEK 6.

The Atlanta Falcons defeated the Buffalo Bills 24-14 in MNF matchup.

Starting from the top, Thursday Night Football left America feeling a new spark, some new energy stimming from East Rutherford, New Jersey and powering the entire New York Giants fanbase. That new and exciting energy goes by the name of Jaxon Dart and Cam Skattebo.

The Philadelphia Eagles fall to a shorthanded New York Giants. With no receiver depth as Malik Nabers is out indefinitely with a torn ACL, and a rookie QB leading the team - you would think the Eagles can make a turnaround from their loss against the Broncos…that didn’t exactly happen. We are witnessing on full display an elite offense dissolve under first year coordinator Kevin Patullo. Offensive productivity is in extreme decline and I believe the more you rely on Jalen Hurts to throw the ball, the more he becomes a liability. The Giants capitalized on these Philly Struggles and finished the outing 34-17. Dart threw for 195 yards on 17 completions and young RB Cam Skattebo rushed for 98 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Sunday was an action packed day. Going out to London, the Denver Broncos win their match against the very unfortunate New York Jets. I don’t know how the Jets are considered a real football team still, with Justin Fields finishing this game with -10 passing yards, the worst performance for any QB in Jets history. The Broncos win 13-11 on 174 yards from Bo Nix.

Featured matchups concluded with the Colts advancing to 5-1 over the Cardinals, the Chargers escaping the Dolphins 29-27, the Patriots burning the Saints on 3 Drake Maye TD passes, and the Steelers breezing right past the depleted Cleveland Browns.

Coming into the Carolinas, the Panthers stole a victory from the Dallas Cowboys winning 30-27. Dak Prescott provided another MVP caliber performance with 261 yards with 3 TD passes, but the Cowboys defense quite literally allowed the Panthers to move effortlessly upfield. 261 yards from Dak, 1 George Pickets touchdown, 1 Jake Ferguson touchdown, and 1 Hunter Luepke touchdown - washed away with a game ending field goal. The Cowboys lose in typical Cowboy fashion. Bryce Young ended the game with 199 yards and 3 TD passes - with Rico Dowdle exploding for 183 rushing yards.

Nexy key matchups included the Seahawks blowing away the Jaguars in Jacksonville 20-12. Sam Darnold once again made it a shootout with over 295 yards thrown. Seahawks star Jaxon Smith-Njigba gained 162 yards and a touchdown as well. The Rams pulled a win away from the now declined Baltimore Ravens 17-3. Matthew Stafford had a 181 yard game. The Raiders come away with a win from the Titans in Vegas and the Packers get a win with two Josh Jacob touchdowns over the Bengals.

Sunday’s last two games were one for the books this year. Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers are on a hot streak and torched the San Fransisco 49ers 30-19. After this game, I think it’s safe to say Baker Mayfield is definitely an MVP candidate. Although Mac Jones showed up with 347 yards, he did not record a single TD pass for the game, rather two interceptions. This game also saw defensive anchor Fred Warner injured. Warner will miss the remainder of the season.

Finishing off Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs made a performance comeback against the Detroit Lions, winning 30-17. The QB battle didn’t disappoint as we saw Jared Goff throw for 203 yards and two TD passes and Patrick Mahomes throwing for 257 yards with 3 TD passes. Jahmyr Gibbs recorded 65 yards but no touchdown this game. Travis Kelce finished out with 78 yards and Hollywood Brown collected two touchdowns. The Chiefs still sit at .500 with a 3-3 record - the Lions drop to just 4-2.

The Atlanta Falcons rescued hope in Atlanta with their impressive Monday Night victory over the Buffalo Bills. The Atlanta Falcons made a strong offensive effort with Penix marking 250 yards for the game. Bijan Robinson has made his case for All-Pro as he recorded 170 rushing yards, 68 receiving yards, and one touchdown on an 81 yard run. Burning hot with 158 yards, Drake London grabbed one touchdown as well. I mean the Falcons literally put up video game numbers on the Bills. We saw the Falcons defense hold MVP QB Josh Allen to just 180 yards. Although having contributions from James Cook with 87 yards and Joshua Palmer for 60 yards, the Bills had very minimal offensive momentum. The Falcons defense pressured Josh Allen 70% of the second half of the game, a weakness exposed with the Bills offense. The Falcons win in 24-14.

The final game of the week saw the Chicago Bears sweep a win from the Washington Commanders, winning 25-24 on a game winning field goal. Caleb Williams recorded 252 yards on 17 completions and one touchdown. D’Andre Swift made a huge contribution with 108 rush yards, 67 recieving yards, and one touchdown. Jayden Daniels came out with 3 TD passes, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Bears off their victory. Week 7 of the National Football League begins this Thursday and expect no shortage of high action.
